Volvo introduces new generation S60 and XC60

The all new S60 & XC60 were unveiled on Wednesday October 23, 2013 by Volvo Auto India. The new next generation cars were unveiled at the Swedish Embassy in Delhi by the company.

Being regarded as Volvo’s best-selling models in India, both the cars are priced well. The ex-showroom prices of the cars in Delhi are mentioned below.

The S60 D4 KIN is available at Rs 29.9 lakh. The S60 D4 SUM is available at Rs 32.5 lakh, and the S60 D5 SUM can be bought at Rs 35.5 lakh. Again a sum of Rs. 40.5 lakh is needed to buy the XC60 D4 KIN. Similarly, Rs 43.5 lakh is needed to own XC60 D4 SUM. Moreover, the XC60 D5 SUM is available at Rs 46.55 lakh.

Starting Wednesday, the cars will be retailed through Volvo dealerships across the country. Speaking at the occasion of the launch, Tomas Ernberg, MD, Volvo Auto India said, “Taking our philosophy of ‘Designed Around You’ a step further, we have the New Generation S60 & XC60 for our customers with changes designed around their comfort and need.

He further added that the Scandinavian design is exemplified by beautiful, simple shapes and surfaces with any unnecessary clutter removed. This is evident in the redesigned interior and exterior of the new 60 cars. Inside, the attention to detail, the authentic materials – such as wood and leather – and the easy-to-use controls contribute to the in-command driving experience”.

Among the key characteristics of the new S60 and XC60 is the city safety up to 50 km/hour feature. Besides, the cars have digital instrument cluster which comes with active TFT crystal display with 3 graphic themes.

In addition, the cars have new and more comfortable sport seats and three-spoke steering wheels.  It also has LED Daytime Running Lights and dual exhaust tail pipes attached.

Moreover, the Laser Assisted Automatic Braking prevents accidents for up to 50 km/hour. As per this laser based feature, it senses emergency situations beforehand. Furthermore, it pre-charges the brakes to upsurge the impact of braking. It can even deploy the brakes in case they aren’t applied on time.

Along with these, the Digital Thin Film Transistor Instrument Cluster presents the driver to choose from various driving modes. These driving modes can transform the interactive dashboard, observe driving, and assist in maintaining optimization.
