Videocon Z55 Dash mid-budget Android smartphone launched at Rs 6,490

Videocon has launched a new smartphone, Z55 Dash, which is completely designed in India and assembled at its local manufacturing plant. Priced at Rs. 6,490, the mid-budget Z55 Dash is available in two color options i.e. Black & Gold and White & Silver. The handset will be available for purchase exclusively via India’s leading e-commerce portal, Flipkart.

The Videocon Z55 Dash has a 5-inch HD display with screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The display is further guarded with Dragontrail X glass and anti-fingerprint coating.

Powered by a 1.4GHz Octa-Core processor and 1GB RAM, the Z55 Dash offers an internal storage of 8GB, which can be augmented to 32GB via the microSD card.

The phone runs on the older version of Android 4.4.2 KitKat Operating System out-of-the-box. The Videocon Z55 Dash is powered fueled by 2,200 mAh battery and could last for the better part of the day with average use.

The Videocon Z55 Dash sports an 8MP rear camera with LED flash support and a 5MP front-facing camera for video-calling.

Whereas, the connectivity option includes Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, and 3G.

Videocon Mobiles CEO, Jerold Pereira said that they understood what the present age consumers from Metro, 2 tier and 3 tier cities wanted. The Z55 dash has been designed keeping in view the dynamic and ever-changing needs of the consumer.

Pereira added that it was the testimony of Videocon’s domestic manufacturing capabilities and consumer insight.

By manufacturing handsets locally, Videocon has ensured that its products remained affordable but stylish and packed with specs. The Videocon Z55 Dash will endear itself to the budget-conscious segment of the society.
