UC Browser, India’s No. 1 mobile browser has inked the deal with Twitter and Microsoft Bing to provide Cricket related information through its revamped UC Cricket app, ahead of the exciting season, which includes T-20 world cup and the upcoming IPL tournaments.

Taking into account the unprecedented growth of the UC Cricket app, which was originally launched in 2013, the company decided to revamp the app in such a way that it provides comprehensive cricket content in the form of live score, news, videos, live tweets, photo, stats, previews, commentaries and much more.

With a growth rate of 100 percent in the daily visitors count in 2015, the company expects to reach more people in 2016 by providing compelling content in the form of trending tweets and search results from Bing.

The latest update of UC Cricket app features a floating widget called UC Express to enable users to know about the scores without deeper navigation including generation of push notification updates.

As regards partnership with Twitter, the UC Cricket app streams live, public, and conversational content related to cricket matches such as trending tweets from both fans and official cricket handles of the players. Moreover, the app also showcases exclusive Twitter-only content from official cricket team accounts such as native videos, Periscopes, Vines, and photos.

“The new tie-up with Twitter and Bing will reshape the digital cricket content landscape by offering the right mix of content for all cricket lovers in India ahead of the upcoming cricket season,” said Kenny Ye, GM of Global Markets, Alibaba Mobile Business Group.

Meanwhile, Ravichandran Bhaskaran, Head of Business Development, India and South Asia for Twitter is very optimistic about the recent developments by stating that Twitter knows the pulse of people and is the perfect place to share all the latest from the cricket games. Imagine, a single tweet has the capability to generate several retweets and loves, which will spread like viral across the global network.

Bhaskaran further informed the media that the India vs Pakistan match, in 2015, generated 1.7 million tweets. The company hopes to gain more viewership through huge promotional campaigns via both web and print media. This will enable the app to share breaking news in the form of tweets to a wide range of cricket audience throughout the season.

Bing, on the other hand, will attempt to provide accurate predictions regarding upcoming games by leveraging Bing Predicts, said Sundar Srinivasan, GM, Bing Search. He also revealed that nearly 83 percent of the predictions generated by the tool for the world cup matches in 2015 were accurate.

Speaking of the partnership with UC Browser, Srinivasan is confident that the unique analytical feature on Bing will reach a broad audience located in both rural and urban areas.

While Twitter integration is already available on UC Cricket, the app will infuse Bing into it from March 14.
