Just now Twitter confirmed that it is suspending the 140 characters limits in tweets, the company said that from now on, it would not be counting anything other than plain text in tweets. That means you can now add emojis, photos, videos, GIFs, polls, and also quote tweets without the 140-character limit constraint.
The move by Twitter was expected way back in May last year, but it remained just a thought until now. Twitter mentioned in its tweet, “Say more about what’s happening! Rolling out now: photos, videos, GIFs, polls, and Quote Tweets no longer count toward your 140 characters.” It’s not that Twitter has completely scrapped the 140-character limit, but as we mentioned above, it will not count videos, GIFs, polls, and more in your tweet.

The company is focused on making Twitter a whole lot easier and faster. Now you will be able to tweet interesting content and drive people to the conversation. The feature is already rolling out, and you should be able to send longer tweets including quote tweets from now on.
A while back, the social networking site rolled out another facility for its users where they can get their account verified by applying for the same. The process is comparatively faster, and many users now have a green badge with their Twitter account. Before this, the company used to pick people based on their work.
