Samsung unveils the thinnest and the slimmest Galaxy Tab S 10.5, 8.4 in India

Samsung Electronics — Samsung (KRX: 005930) has introduced its flagship tablets in India — Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and 8.4 at Rs 37,800 and Rs 44,800, respectively. The Wi-Fi + 3G adaptations of these two tablets will be accessible beginning second week of July, offering Super AMOLED display with 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution. LTE adaptations will be taking a stab at a later time.

According to Samsung, these two tablets are the most slender and lightest gadget accessible in Indian market. Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and 8.4 are powered by an Exynos 5 Octa processor (1.9GHz quad-core+ 1.3GHz quad-core), and 3GB RAM. The devices come equipped with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and Samsung’s customized UI. Both the variants feature 16GB internal storage that is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD.

These Galaxy S tablets sport 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 2.1MP front-facing camera. In terms of connectivity, these tablets are offering Wi-Fi (including 802.11ac), Bluetooth 4.0, IR LED, 3G, and voice calling, etc.

The newly unveiled Galaxy S tablets offer software features like ‘SideSync 3.0,’ allowing users to make and receive calls and share content through their Galaxy S5 phones — a multi-user mode that allows 8 user profiles along with ‘Kids Mode.’

Galaxy Tab S 10.5 comes equipped with a 7,900mAh battery inside while the 8.4-inch version has a 4,900mAh battery. Both the variants are available in Titanium Bronze and Dazzling White colors.

As stated earlier, the new Galaxy S tablets carry a calling facility, allowing people to make calls and unlock the device with a fingerprint. These tablets can support up to eight user profiles, so members of the household can get separate home screens simply by swiping their finger on the sensor.
