Gaming on mobile phones has been there for so long, ever since the glory days of the snake game on the Nokia 3210, and it kept improving and becoming big throughout the years until the recent explosion of games like PUBG mobile which attracted a huge amount of casual non hardcore gamers to the Mobile Gaming scene, but recently a newly-discovered genre made its debut and its taking over the gaming on mobile.
What is it?
The genre is “Auto Battler, also known as “Auto Chess”, its type of a strategy game that features chess-like elements where players place characters on a grid-shaped battlefield during a preparation phase, who then fight the opposing team’s characters without any further direct input from the player.
How did it start?
The first Auto battler game we have ever witnessed is Dota’s Auto Chess which was exclusive to PC only. It was released for the public on the 4th of January this year. The characters/units used in the game were taken from Dota 2 characters which made the players of Dota2 fall in love with it because it gives them the ability to play a chess-like game with the characters they love from their favorite game.
It gained a lot of attention from the public almost immediately after being released and become so popular that it had over eight million players by May 2019.
How did it become a mobile game?
After the enormous success it had on the PC and after the release of Riot Games (The creator of one of the most popular online games League Of Legends) their own auto battler game “Teamfight Tactics” which took a lot of the hype and clout from Dota’s Auto Chess, they had to do something innovative to bring a new audience to play their games. So they shortly decided to release Auto Chess to the mobile gaming world which we can say it did succeed in bringing them a new audience.
How big did is it on mobile?
The game was released to the mobile market on March 15, 2019, and it got the same hype and clout its PC counterpart got. Just in a few months, it had more than 5 million downloads and more than 140 thousands positive reviews on Google Play Store ONLY.
The Future of the Auto Battler Games
We can safely assume that the future of the Auto Battler games is very bright and especially those few games that started the hype, but we can’t guarantee that Dota’s Auto Chess specifically will have a very bright future, because ever since League Of Legends released their Auto Battler Game (Teamfight Tactics) it has been taking all the hype and clout from Auto Chess, and we can definitely assume if Teamfight Tactics came to the mobile gaming market it will eat up the market and be the most played auto battler.
How to become a good Auto Battler player?
Every since Teamfight Tactics (The most popular Auto-Battle as we speak) released their ranked mode and people started having anxiety about climbing the ladder and the need to achieve a higher ranking in TFT, so we decided to discuss with you the nature of improving in TFT or any other auto battler game.
Improving in such games is definitely not an easy task, but it is doable once you know what to focus on and how to play the game properly. First of all, you need to understand the meta, understand what is strong in the current patches and know how to abuse it.
Second, you need to watch a lot of streams, you can head over to Twitch.tv to see some of the best players play and teach you how to play Teamfight Tactics, Auto Chess, or any game you like.
Third and the most uncommon but proven way to improve your rank and help you generally to improve in such games is to use a boosting service, TFT boosting right now is very hot and is known to be very beneficial to improving your rank very quickly and also improving your skills at the game by getting the chance of having a professional Teamfight Tactics player/booster to ask about anything in the game.
