Tata Docomo partners with YouTube to make online video more affordable for mobile Internet users

In an exertion to make video content more moderate to an expansive base of mobile Internet in India, Tata Docomo in association with YouTube and Apalya Technologies announced the launch of a video data plan — “YouTube Recharge.”

With the help of this partnership, Tata Docomo will be pander to a key shopper interest of giving moderate and open access to mainstream feature offering locales like YouTube and Apalya’s Live TV streaming administration by getting transparent and reasonable valuing to the end clients.

Speaking at the launch of YouTube Recharge plan, Gurinder Singh Sandhu, Head-Marketing Mobility, Tata Teleservices said, “We have always believed in providing an open and easy access Internet to our subscribers with the best in class network at affordable rates.“

He further continued – “With the YouTube Recharge plan, we are bringing down the barriers that inhibit users from enjoying their favorite video content on mobile by bringing down the cost by over 50%.”

Talking about the partnership, Gautam Anand, Director Content Partnerships & Operations for YouTube Asia-Pacific, said, “By working with Tata Docomo to introduce more affordable ways to watch videos from mobile devices, we hope Indians will be able to get more out of YouTube at a better price.”

The new YouTube Recharge plan will empower mobile Internet users to access their favorite content on YouTube. A related case study demonstrates that online video consumption is pegged at 3.7 billion videos per month in India.

About 40 percent of traffic on YouTube originates from mobile phones and tablets, and the expansion of advanced mobile phones in combo with reasonable information arrangements can boost the development of online video consumption in India.
