Targus the world famous IT peripherals maker has been continuously updating their product lineup in the Indian market. One such newly launched product is the TurboQuad USB travel charger. The charger was announced almost two months back and provides you with four USB charging sockets.
We gave the TurboQuad Charger a try and here’s our review!

Design
The design of the charger is solid and Targus has done no compromises here. The charger is sleek and can fit in a pocket easily. There are four USB ports arranged vertically on one side with the Targus logo on the opposite end. Next to the USB ports is an LED.
At the end of the charger is the AC socket which can take multiple adapter heads depending on the region and Targus also bundles them with the charger. The mechanism to change adapters is easy with the button given on the top, which when pressed releases the AC adapter.
Performance
The TurboQuad charger comes with a feature called the ‘Smart detection’. Now what this feature does is, it allows the ports to deliver customised charging speed by automatically detecting the exact charge required by the connected device. The maximum output quoted by the brand is 4.8 Amps and we got a similar output in our tests.
The maximum output we got per USB port was 2.4 Amps which is sort of equivalent to Qualcomm’s Quick charge 2.0. The outputs we got in our tests while using all the USB ports varied and fluctuated between 1.2 Amps to 2.4 Amps.

Verdict – Should you go for it?
If you travel a lot or carry a bunch of devices with you and are in the market looking for a solution, then the Targus TurboQuad Charger is a must buy. It’s got a sleek profile and a very functional design. The ability to charge four devices simultaneously is the most highlighting feature.
The charge though priced at INR 2,799 is being sold for INR 1,449 on Amazon.in, and at that price, it’s a steal.
