Many hardcore gamers wait for Steam summer sales every year. This is the time when gamers can get triple A games at a very low price. A leak shared by Reddit reveals that the sale will kick off on 23 June and will ends on 4 July.
A Reddit user named MrFreemanBBQ shared a Russian language screenshot. The screenshot reveals stem’s summer sale 2016 will run from 9:45 am PT on 23 JUNE to 10:00 am pt 4 JULY. He posted the dates on Reddit and the information is spread by Russian Social Network VK.
After the leak, Valve officially announces the Summer Sale dates, and surprisingly the dates matched the leaked information.

This is not the first time when Steam’s summer sale information is leaked. Last year’s summer sale was also leaked by MrFreemanBBQ. Apart from this in 2015 winter sale, PayPal accidentally released the date on its website. The online payment processor revealed winter sale date before the Valve’s official confirmation.
Hoping the sale will be less dramatic than last year’s winter sale, which saw the service being offline for a while.because of there was a security flaw that exposed the personal information of the users. Valve finally Apologies to its customer in March for the inconvenience. The last summer sale took place in early June running from June 11 to June 21.
Many game lovers do not buy Triple – A games immediately after their launch as they wait for steam sales hoping that they can get a deep discount during the sale.
Apart from providing discounts and freebies to the customer, Valve also offers a clicker game which player can use to earn Steam Trading card and unlock discounts for various other games. Whether or not this year’s sales also offers some twist like this, remains to be seen.
