These smart glasses could render your fitness tracker and smartwatch useless

Wearable technology is being accepted by more and more companies nowadays. Almost every technology company has come up with a smartwatch and now smart glasses have followed in. Recently Snapchat unveiled a smartwatch that has a camera unit built-in, but it doesn’t offer a lot of features. Vue, a technology startup, has come up with a unique pair of glasses that could replace your fitness tracker and work as a smartwatch as well.

You may be thinking that what makes it so special? First of all, the Vue glasses looks just like any regular glass, but only in appearance. The smart glasses come with a built-in microphone so you can take a call with a single tap on the glasses. It features bone conduction speakers for sounds audible onto to you. The piece of gadget connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth. The Touch control allows the user to change soundtracks, offer turn-by-turn navigation, and visual notification.

The reason why we said that it could replace your activity tracker is that it offers activity tracking as well as health reminders, just like activity tracker. It comes with 6-axis accelerometer and gyroscope, Infrared accelerometer sensor. Besides, it is sweat and water resistant.

Vue glasses packs Bluetooth 4.2 and ARM Cortex-M3 processor. It has a battery of 90mAh battery. A long press on the glass activates selfie camera of your phone, and a double tap notifies you about time.

Vue glasses are of two types – Classic and Trendy. Each of them comes with a wireless charging case. Once charged, the glasses battery lasts for almost a week, as claimed by the company.

At the time of writing this, the project has been backed by 4,300+ people on Kickstarter and has crossed the set goal of $50,000. Till now, $899, 555 has been pledged. The company has an early bird program where you can get a pair for $159, which otherwise would cost $269. The delivery will be made by July next year. Pledge for $179 and more, and get Vue glasses with prescription or tinted lenses. A $229 pledge would allow you get a custom etched Vue glasses.
