Samsung has started the firmware development process for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone. According to reports, the company is currently working on to developer firmware for Galaxy S8 for use in China, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Poland, the United Kingdom and the United States. However, Samsung will start the development work for other regions as soon as the first stable build of the firmware is ready for consumption.
The rapid progress in the firmware development doesn’t mean that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be released early. If you look at the 2015 timelines, Samsung had stated the firmware development process for the Galaxy S7 in October. However, the company released the handset during MWC in Barcelona.
Samsung Galaxy S8 expected during MWC 2017
If rumors are to be believed, Samsung Galaxy S8 will be showcased during the MWC 2017 in Barcelona expected to be held in February. Initially, the company will launch the Galaxy S8 in the US, China and Korea followed by other Asian regions.

According to rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to feature a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with 2K resolution. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S8 Edge variant will ship with a 5.5-inch FHD display with up to 4K resolution.
Talking about the internals, the Galaxy S8 will be powered by a Snapdragon 830 processor designed using 10nm manufacturing process. However, the Galaxy S8 is expected to integrate Exynos 8895 chipsets for units shipped to emerging markets such as India. There are reports that the Galaxy S8 Edge variant will offer a dual-camera mechanism similar to that of iPhone 7 Plus.
Samsung Galaxy S8 will ship with new artificial intelligence assistant
According to sources close to Samsung, the company will most probably integrate a new artificial intelligence assistant as a replacement to S Voice on the forthcoming Galaxy S8. This will be similar to that of Google Assistant, which fetches answers from the search engine market using smart intelligence. Recently, Samsung acquired Viv Labs, which develops products similar to that of Siri.
Even though Samsung is facing heat as a result of the Galaxy Note 7 flop, the company is confident of offering reliable products in the future. We infer that Samsung engineers have managed to find the exact cause of the problem, which caused Galaxy Note 7 to explode.
It remains to be seen how tech enthusiasts will look forward to Samsung Galaxy S8 after the Note 7 disaster. The loyal Samsung fans will welcome new gadgets from Samsung. However, newcomers will always look with suspicion since they don’t want to lose money on a risky product.
