Samsung has recalled 2.8 million washing machines in the US following widespread reports of the failure of machines during usage and excessive vibration. In a recent incident, a customer had suffered a broken jaw when the top of the unit exploded.

Meanwhile, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission had confirmed that Samsung has recalled 34 different models of top-load washing machines. The commission said that they had received 733 reports of excessive vibration or the top detaching from the washing machine chassis. As a result of the problem, nearly 2.8 million washing machines in the US have been recalled.

Nine injuries caused due to Samsung washing machines vibration

According to sources, there have been nine different confirmed injuries as a result of the problem. This includes a broken jaw, injured shoulder, and other related impact or fall-related injuries. If you recently purchased any of the Samsung washing machines in the US and faced acute vibration then you should not ignore the notice.

Samsung provides three options to affected customers

If you notice any abnormal activity with your washing machine, you have three choices. The first option is to get the machine repaired at home by an authorised engineer. The second option is to accept a rebate towards a new model either from Samsung or another manufacturer. The final option is to opt for a full refund. However, the refund option will be eligible only if you had purchased the machine within 30 days of the recall announcement.

Samsung washing machines recall will have impact on earnings

According to industry analysts, the recall of around 2.8 million washing machines will have a significant impact on the profit of the company. The company is already facing serious issues over the impact of the Galaxy Note 7 recall.

However, Samsung is trying to cope up with the situation by introducing new color options for the Galaxy S7 series. You can also opt to exchange Note 7 for either Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge.

When Samsung initially released Galaxy Note 7, the phone got rave reviews among tech bloggers and reviewers. However, the whole problem started when the handset started to explode. As such, Samsung had to recall millions of units. However, the replaced safe phones also faced explosion causing injuries to customers. Hence, the Note 7 production was suspended resulting in huge losses to the company.
