In its quest to stay updated with the latest trends, the South Korean electronics giant Samsung has launched two mid-level smartphones in India – Galaxy On7 Pro and Galaxy On5 Pro. Both are more advanced versions of the existing models On7 and On5.
The price of both the models differs by Rs. 2,000 which is not much but still there are major differences between the two models. Let us find out what are the differences and how akin are the two devices.
Display
The Galaxy On5 Pro features a smaller 5-inch display while the Galaxy On7 Pro has a bigger 5.5-inch display. Since the resolution of both the displays is the same, one can expect to see a crisper and sharper image on the display of the former as compared to the latter.
Processor
Although both the handsets have the same 2GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage, the processors are different. The Galaxy On7 Pro has Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core chipset, clocked at 1.2 GHz; the On5 Pro has a Exynos 3475 quad-core chipset, clocked at 1.3 GHz.

Battery
The batteries of the two devices are also different. The Galaxy On7 Pro has a bigger 3000mAh battery while the Galaxy On5 Pro has a smaller 2600 mAh battery. Since the screen resolution of both the smartphones is the same, battery life will depend on how the processors take up the workload. Theoretically, the Galaxy On7 Pro will have a better battery life among the two devices.
Camera
The Galaxy On7 Pro features a better camera than the Galaxy On5 Pro. The former has a 13-megapixel primary camera while the latter has an 8-megapixel primary camera. The secondary camera of the two handsets is identical at 5 Megapixel resolutions.
Similarities
The following are the similarities between both models
- Run on the same Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS platform with TouchWiz UI
- Display has identical resolutions, i.e. 720p
- Identical RAM (2GB), internal storage (16GB), and a MicroSD card slot
- Identical secondary cameras 5-megapixel with 120-degree wide-angle lens
- Identical Twin SIM capability with 4G LTE connectivity support

Which one is superior?
Boils down to one fact that the more money you pay, the better features you get. The Galaxy On7 Pro carries a price tag of Rs. 11,190 and is a better buy but if you are on a tight budget, the Galaxy On5 Pro is great value for your money.
