Samsung Galaxy Note 9 rumor roundup: Specs, features & leaked details

The Galaxy S9 is already behind us and the next big thing forthcoming from Samsung is, of course, Note 9. That said, it still is some months away from a formal launch though that isn’t stopping the rumor mill from trying to figure out what the future Note iteration will look like.

Here is a rumor roundup pertaining to the Galaxy Note 9 device due out in a couple of months from now. For reference, we also have a brilliant Note 9 render as well done by Graphic designer Muhsin M. Belaal Auckburaully, who is identified on YouTube as DBS Designing.

As is evident in the renderings and the Note 9 cases that have surfaced online, Note 9 is finally expected to have an in-screen fingerprint sensor, something that Samsung has really been toiling hard with for some years now. There is a graphic work at the bottom to show you where exactly to place your finger through earlier rumors on this have been rather confusing.

While there has been information about Samsung applying for a patent that would turn the entire display into a biometric sensor, some sources point out the sensor might be missing on the Note 9 as well owing to low yields. As such, it still isn’t clear if Note 9 will indeed feature an under-screen fingerprint scanner.

Further, the stylus this time could be available in a multitude of colors to match the phone. The device on a whole is seen sporting a boxy shape as well, which again is quite in line with the design approach of the Note series. Also, the front is dominated almost entirely with the display, with the bezel at the top and bottom reduced just thin strips. Specifically, it likely will have a 6.3-inch QHD Super AMOLED panel at the top.

On the other side of it will be a Snapdragon 845 or 9810 chipset depending on the market it is targeted at coupled to an 8 GB RAM. That is the highest we have seen so far in a smartphone with the OnePlus 5T also offering that much of memory bandwidth. A 128 GB storage to finds mentions though there sure will be other configurations to apply to different price segments.

The rest of the specs being associated with the Note 9 include a 3,850 mAh battery, dual 12 MP variable aperture camera (f/1.5 & f/2.4), 8 MP front camera, along with water and dust resistance. An improved Bixby 2.0 too will likely debut with Note 9, allowing for greater user convenience.

The S9 and S9+ are already brilliant pieces of phone hardware through the fact that they share the looks with the S8 and have somewhat marred its appeal so far. That also is the reason sales of the S9 duo hasn’t been great either. However, it seems the Note 9 can well make up if the device comes anywhere close to what has been depicted.
