Samsung Galaxy J6 official renders leaked, suggest Infinity Display, rear mounted fingerprint sensor

Galaxy J6

Leaked images of the Galaxy J6 that surfaced a few days back hinted at an Infinity display. Now, renders of the upcoming handset have been spotted, which also suggest it’ll be the first smartphone in the Galaxy J series to flaunt an Infinity Display, something seen on Samsung’s premium offerings such as the Galaxy A range and its flagship ‘S’ series of handsets.

The latest leaked renders confirm the upcoming Galaxy J6 to have a flat Infinity display like the latest Galaxy A8. That said, the handset will still retain a plastic body and is not expected to get upgraded to a metal unibody design. Also, fingerprint sensor has been repositioned at the back of the device given the taller Infinity display and slim design. Key sources also indicate the back of the handset won’t be removable.

In terms of specs, the Galaxy J6 is expected to feature a 5.6-inch AMOLED Infinity Display with a 2160 x 1080-pixel resolution. Under the hood, it is tipped to get powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 7870 processor bundled with either2GB/3GB or 4GB of RAM. The handset is expected to feature 64GB of built-in storage with support for microSD expandability. The handset is said to run Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box with Samsung Experience 9.0. Juicing up the handset will be a 3000mAh battery.

In the camera department, the Galaxy J6 is said to feature a 13MP primary camera and an 8MP front-facing shooter. The handset is also said to offer support for facial recognition.

That said, there’s no information as to when Samsung plans to officially launch the Galaxy J6. However, rumour has it that the handset is expected to go official in India this month and could be priced around Rs. 17,000 for the base variant. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we hear anything new. Until then, keep checking back for more.
