Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro launches in India: Price, features and specs

Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro has been launched in India with a 6-inch display and 5000mAh battery at Rs. 32,490. Available in Black, Gold, and White color variants, the handset will be visible on the shelves of the retail stores from September 26. The big attraction of the Galaxy A9 Pro is the integration of a large 6-inch display and 5000mAh battery with fast charging support.

Even though the handset was launched in China in March 2016, it took several months for the company to launch the phone in India. This is because the new smartphone features considerable upgrade compared to the original Samsung Galaxy A9. Hence, the company has coined the tag “Pro” on it.

In addition to a 5000mAh battery, the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro offers a 4GB RAM and 16-megapixel camera. The original release shipped with a 4000mAh battery, 3GB RAM, and a 13MP camera sensor. Hence, you can expect enhanced performance compared to the phone available in China.

Commenting on the launch, Manu Sharma, Vice President, Mobiles Business, Samsung India Electronics disclosed that the millennial generation is increasingly consuming content on their smartphones. Hence, the 6-inch Super AMOLED display on Galaxy A9 Pro enhances the user experience to a large extent. With a large display, users will be able to navigate websites and apps easily.

Sharma added that the presence of a large battery enables users to work with the phone for a long time. Moreover, the integration of an enhanced camera with OIS helps you to capture images in low-light conditions. The release of new Android game warrants a handset with improved memory and advanced processor.

Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro Specifications

On the specifications front, the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro features a 6-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 652 processor, 4GB RAM, and 32GB internal storage (expandable up to 256GB) loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Talking about the camera specifications, the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro ships with a 16-megapixel rear camera with a f/1.9 aperture and LED Flash. Samsung has integrated optical image stabilization (OIS) as well with the phone. On the front side, you will find an 8-megapixel sensor bearing a f/1.9 aperture.

The handset also offers all the standard connectivity features such as 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC. Moreover, the phone also provides support for a wide range of sensors such as proximity, ambient light, accelerometer, magnetometer, and gyroscope.

During the launch event, Sharma also said that the company is excited to expand their Galaxy A series with the new Galaxy A9 Pro which offers a differentiated experience to our consumers for their active lifestyle. It remains to be seen as to how customers accept Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro because of the recent bricking and explosion incidents with Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
