2.5 million users before official launch

Even though Reliance Jio has yet to officially announce the public availability of its 4G services, the preview offers in association with various smartphone manufacturers has gathered momentum. As of this writing, the company claims that it has over 2.5 million users. However, rival companies like Vodafone and Airtel have expressed apprehension that Reliance has already launched the service.

Reliance Jio is under scanner

Meanwhile, the COAI has written to the Telecom ministry accusing Reliance of diverting revenues from Jio to Reliance Digital by selling LYF smartphones. This has caused loss to the government since the provider does not generate any revenues. However, Reliance Jio has dismissed the claims as baseless.
