RED HYDROGEN ONE with smartphone with world’s first Holographic display Announced

RED HYDROGEN ONE

High-end camera manufacturer RED announces the HYDROGEN ONE smartphone which is the world’s first handset to feature the holographic display. According to the company’s official website, the device will run on the Android operating system and packs 5.7 inches hYDROGEN holographic display. The display uses nanotechnology which allows users to seamlessly switch between traditional 2D content, holographic multi-view content, 3D content and interactive games. However, the company still hasn’t disclosed the full specification of the smartphone.

According to the official image of the device, it is confirmed that the handset will feature USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Furthermore, the smartphone is also listed on the company’s website for pre-booking, and it is available in two variants. The titanium version will cost around $1595 (INR 1, 03,235) and aluminum version $1195 (INR 77,340)

RED says there’s a proprietary H3O algorithm embedded in the OS that converts stereo sound to multi-dimensional audio, somewhat like 5.1 stereo channel effect on a headphone. Furthermore, the handset is also modular, allowing for future attachments for high-quality video and images. Needless to say, the phone will also be compatible with RED’s cameras like Scarlet, EPIC, and Weapon.

In conclusion, this seems to be a unique piece of machinery and will be interesting how well the mass markets adapt to this new technology coming from the legendary company.
