7 Reasons Why iPhone 8 Is The Most Anticipated Phone of 2017

Last year, iPhone 7 made waves in the tech world with its launch in September. It was a sleeker version of its predecessors with brand new processors that made the phone 60% faster. Yet, it was the total absence of a 3.5 mm audio jack that got everybody talking.

Now, it’s 2017 and we’re looking forward to the launch event of Apple’s Tenth Anniversary product – the iPhone 8! With September 2017 around the corner, online merchants such as Flipkart and Amazon have already started listing pre-booking prices for the iPhone 8.

In addition to that, online shoppers look forward to in-depth product comparisons and price comparisons on sites like CashKaro before buying smartphones. CashKaro helps consumers with price comparisons across different online retailers, even for premium products like the iPhone 7. If you’re not too hard of memory, you would be aware of the fierce speculation iPhone 7 suffered last year. And now, it’s pretty much de-ja-vu for the iPhone 8.

The latest news from Apple Inc. states that the iPhone 8 is at the final stages of product approval and the release date will be out soon. So we thought of figuring out the product specifications that Apple Inc.’s flagship product is expected to feature. Here’s a list of the confirmed attributes that set it apart from Apple’s previous smartphones.

Product Design + Display

Lighter – Apple has always tried to produce lightweight handsets, even the iPhone 7 clocked a weight of 138g. Similarly, the iPhone 8 is expected to weigh between 131 and 135 grams.

Larger OLED screen – The iPhone 8 will have a 5.8-inch front panel with an OLED-display. This appears to be an attempt to catch up with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S7 Edge smartphones. The iPhone 8 is reportedly going to have 4.7-inch, 5.5-inch, and 5.8-inch versions. This was confirmed in March ’17 when reports of Apple’s partnership with LG for OLED edge screens came to the fore.

Glass panels on the front and back – In March 2017, Apple announced that it will reintroduce the all-glass design previously seen on the iPhone 4. Reliable experts state that this change is partly attributed to the fact that the glass body was Apple’s design distinction earlier.

Better screen resolution – Apart from the 5.8-inch display screen, iPhone 8 packs a 521 PPI display, which is remarkably better than iPhone 7/7 Plus displays. This means users get even better clarity in video calls, YouTube videos, and gaming apps. The jump to OLED and all-glass front panel leads us to think that the iPhone 8’s display is going to have enhanced contrast ratios.

Advanced Features

Increased water resistance – Following the front and back glass-panel structure, the new iPhone 8 will be water-resistant just like the earlier iPhone 7/7 Plus. This feature gives the iPhone a competitive edge because an IP68 rating means it has the highest level of ingress protection (IP) against dust and water. The iPhone 8 will provide protection against immersion up to 1.5 meters of water.

Embedded home button – Apple is embedding home buttons on the iPhone 8’s display and holds 6 patents for this technology. What remains to be seen is whether all versions of the iPhone 8 will sport a glass-embedded home button or only the 5.8-inch premium version.

Advanced iOS 11 + A11 Processor

The iPhone 8 is touted to be Apple’s fastest phone thanks to the latest A11 System-on-Chip processor with a 2 GB RAM. This 10-nanometer, 64-bit SOC is Apple’s intrinsic product over which abridged biometric sensing apparatus for face and eyeball recognition will be mapped. A robust iOS 11 that was launched this month at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference ‘17 will feature as the base platform for iPhone 8.

More powerful cameras

iPhone 8 might have two vertically placed cameras on the back panel and a selfie shooter on the front panel with 3D sensing capabilities. Even Virtual and Augmented Reality video capture functions are going to be integrated into the 12 MP cameras. MetaIO, a tech start-up has been roped in for the execution of a VR tech-enabled mode of the iPhone 8.

Charging – USB Type-C or Wireless Charging

The million dollar question was how will the iPhone 8 be charged? Apple’s marketing manager Phil Schiller said that “Wireless charging systems still have to be plugged into the wall, so it’s not clear how much of convenience they add.”

While the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus utilize lightning charging technology, iPhone 8 might support USB Type C charging. In March, another report came in that pointed to a Lightning to USB Type-C cable to the product box for iPhone 8 with a USB Type C wall adapter. This, however, isn’t confirmed yet and Apple might still be experimenting with a Lightning to USB Type A charging process.

With a volley of device specifications inspired by those present in current Android phones, readers worldwide are waiting for the new iPhone with baited breath. It looks like many more surprises will unfold at the launch. Until then, it would be fair to say that iPhone 8 looks quite well made for its price.
