Piaggio India unveils Vespa VX and Vespa S scooters in Nepal

Italian two-wheeler manufacturer, Piaggio has entered in Nepal and has launched its Vespa scooters line-up through its Indian subsidiary company in Kathmandu on Wednesday.

Currently, the company will sell two variants of the scooter i.e. Vespa VX and Vespa S in Nepal priced at NPR 2,49,946 and NPR 2,63,946 respectively.

D-Lifestyles, a parent company of Dev Jyoti Group, will be the official dealer for Vespa in Nepal.

Piaggio Vespa made its way to India back in April 2012. Piaggio India manufactures the scooter at its own plant in Baramati, Maharashtra, along with a range of three-and-four-wheeled commercial vehicles.

Both the Vespa scooters are powered by a 125cc three-valved engine with auto ignition and has features such as disc brake, tubeless tyres, enhanced style quotient and single piece monocoque steel body along with several other features.

The Vespa VX will be available for purchase in five color variants, which includes Lime Yellow, Portovenere Green, Midnight Blue, Monte Bianco White and Dragon Red.

Whereas, the Vespa S will be available in four color variants i.e. Taormina Orange, Dragon Red, Matt Black and Mono Bianco White.

Commenting on the launch event, Managing Director at Piaggio India – Stefano Pelle said, “This event is mostly important for the Piaggio Group that is very focused on this part of Asia in its globalization strategies.”

He also added, “The youth here has a great fashion sense of their own, which is why we think that Vespa will fit impeccably as a brand. We are certain that Vespa will allure the youth with its unmistakable style and Italian charm.”
