Panasonic Eluga Arc2 with 5-inch 2.5D display, Android Marshmallow launched

Panasonic India has launched its Eluga Arc2 at a price of Rs. 12,290. It features a 2.5D curved DragonTrail glass and metal body. It will be made available in two colors: gold and rose gold.

The device has a 7.6mm thin metal design along with aircraft grade aluminum alloy made of CNC technology and weighs 147 grams. It sports a 5-inch HD IPS display and has an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 5MP front camera. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor, it is bundled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal memory (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card).

The 4G VoLTE-enabled smartphone packs 2450 mAh battery and supports USB OTG.
The handset is targetted at on the go professionals and its 1.3 GHz quad-core processor does some justice high-end specs.

The device is an upgrade from the Eluga Arc, in various aspects such as display, RAM and OS. A mid-budget phone like this is rightly targeted at working professionals who need on the go services. The power-specs seem the right way to go as has been shown by similar devices by other companies. Fending off competition especially from Chinese counterparts seems to be a difficult task.

The company has a wide range of electronics in India including home appliances like LCD and Plasma TV, Home Theatre Systems, DVD players, Refrigerators, Ovens etc. Being one of the longest runners for most of the product markets in India, Panasonic has a strong hold over them. However, the smartphone market has been a little tight for them.
