Oppo Reno, Reno 10X launched in India: What’s special?

As scheduled, Oppo has now finally unveiled the Oppo Reno line-up in India, comprising of Oppo Reno and Oppo Reno 10X Zoom Edition smartphones.

As evident, the Oppo Reno is a premium mid-range smartphone with Snapdragon 710 SoC. The Reno 10X Zoom, on the other hand, is a flagship contender with Snapdragon 855 onboard. Both the devices bear identical design but have different processors, battery and camera capabilities.

The Oppo Reno gets a 6.4-inch full-HD+ panoramic AMOLED display with 93.1 percent screen-to-body ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. Under the screen, resides an in-display fingerprint scanner for unlocking the phone. That said, the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.

For photography, Reno the Oppo Reno features a dual rear camera setup. It comprises of a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary sensor alongside a 5-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 lens. For selfies, there’s a shark-fin camera module that houses a 16-megapixel shooter with f/2.0 aperture. The camera app offers certain AI features, including UltraClear Night Mode 2.0 and Oppo Artistic Mode.

Moreover, the phone runs Color OS 6 with features like Dolby Atmos, NFC, and Game Boost 2.0. Lastly, it packs a 3,765mAh battery that supports VOOC 3.0 fast charging support.

Oppo Reno 10X Specs, Features

The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom Edition, on the other hand, gets a 6.6-inch Full-HD+ panoramic AMOLED display with 93.1% screen-to-body ratio. Just like the regular model, this too boasts an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Under the hood, the phone gets powered by top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. Notably, it comes in 6/128GB and 8/256GBGB RAM and storage options. The company is also touting the presence of copper pipe cooling control for better thermals, also present on the former.

Interestingly, the Reno 10X Zoom Edition gets triple cameras at the rear. The module comprises of a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor with an f/1.7 aperture. Furthermore, there’s a 13-megapixel secondary sensor with a periscope telephoto lens, accompanied by an 8-megapixel sensor with a super wide-angle lens. It has the same AI features from the regular model.

As the name suggests, the Reno 10x Zoom offers 16-160mm full focal length coverage, allowing 10x hybrid zoom, aided with automatic digital stabilization. It can further go up for 60x digital zoom and is the first one to do the same. It also has dual OIS and triple focus for capturing stable photos even without a tripod. One can record 4K videos in 60fps along with 3D audio using three microphones for surround sound effect. For selfies, there’s a 16-megapixel front camera, hidden in the shark-fin module.

Besides running Color OS 6, the handset gets Dolby Atmos sound, a 3.5mm audio jack, dual-frequency GPS, NFC, and Game Boost 2.0. All of this is backed by a massive 4,065mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 fast charging support. Connectivity options including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, dual frequency GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port are present on the device.

Oppo Reno, Reno 10X Price in India

The regular Oppo Reno has been priced at Rs. 32,990 for the sole model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage in India.

The Reno 10X, on the other hand, starts at Rs. 39,990 for the 6/128GB model and goes as high as Rs. 49,990 for the top-end model with 8/256GB configuration. It will be available across all major online and offline stores in Ocean Green & Jet Black colour options.
