Oppo R9s and R9s Plus have launched in China in Gold and Rose Gold color variants at CNY 2799 and CNY 3499 respectively. The newly launched handsets are available for pre-order. However, the shipping will start only on October 28.
During the launch event, Oppo revealed that both Oppo R9 and R9s Plus are capable of delivering two hours of talk time in just five minutes of charging. Moreover, the rear camera in both variants is equipped with Sony’s IMX398 sensor with dual-focus to provide 40 percent enhanced experience than phase detection autofocus. According to sources, both phones come with three antenna lines with just 0.3mm width.
Oppo R9s specifications
Oppo R9sThe Oppo R9s features a 5.5-inch FHD Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protected display. Talking about the internals, the handset offers Snapdragon 625 processor running at 2.0GHz coupled with 4GB RAM, Adreno 506 graphics and 3010mAh battery with VOOC fast charging technology.
The only disadvantage with Oppo R9s is that the camera sensor doesn’t ship with OIS. If you look at the thickness, the Oppo R9 features only 6.58mm measuring 145 grams in weight.
Oppo R9s Plus specifications
Oppo R9s PlusMeanwhile, Oppo R9s Plus is equipped with a 6-inch FHD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone gets a huge boost with a Snapdragon 653 processor. However, it runs at a clock speed of 1.9GHz, which is little less than Oppo R9s.
Coming to internal specs, the Oppo R9s Plus offers 6GB RAM, Adreno 510 graphics paired with a 64GB default storage, which is expandable up to 128GB. However, the expansion slot is hybrid, which means you can use both either SIM card or microSD card on it. A 4000mAh battery with VOOC flash charging technology completes the package. The thickness of Plus model is nit higher at 7.35mm with 185 grams weight.
Oppo R9s and R9s Plus Camera
The newly launched Oppo R9s is equipped with 13MP rear camera and 16MP sensor on the front. However, the bigger variant, Oppo R9s Plus offers 16MP sensor on both the rear and front. You will find features f/1.7 aperture and electronic image stabilization on both handsets
The only difference is the integration of optical image stabilization, 4K video capture support, and a LED flash in Oppo R9s Plus. On the other hand, the front-facing snapper in both phones comes with f/2.0 aperture.
The Oppo R9 and its bigger variant are loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow on top of the ColorOS 3.0 skin. The handsets also feature all standard connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, GPS, Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth 4.0.
Oppo has integrated the fingerprint sensor below the display panel. You will find the sensor inside the home button. We don’t have any information about the expected launch date in India.
