OnePlus along with their newest flagship smartphones, gave a bump to the Bullets wireless Bluetooth earphones that made their debut with the OnePlus 6T. Another nifty gadget that made the rounds is the OnePlus Warp Charge 30 Car charger. We got our hands on both the accessories and here is what we feel about both the products.

Jumping first to the OnePlus Bullets Wireless 2.

So, what’s new in the OnePlus Bullets Wireless 2?

When looking at the design, both the generations look the same with their angled earplugs and the metal housing, to the neckband that houses the volume controls and the battery.
So what’s changed are the internals. Now you get three drivers in each side instead of a single dynamic driver. The rubberized neckband helps with the overall grip. Gone are the ear-wings that were bundled with the Bullets Wireless 1, you just get ear tips with this one. Coming to the accessories, the red silicon case makes a return here as well with the Warp Charge Type C cable.

How do they sound?

Moving to the sound quality and the internals, OnePlus has really worked hard on this generation and cleared off most of the shortcomings that the Bullets Wireless 1 had. Case in point is the addition of three driver units on each side, for a more diverse sound signature. Bass makes a return here and is even more pronounced than the last generation. Sound quality is quite good and the vocals are clear than ever. The sound isolation is perfect and with medium volume levels, you just feel yourself enjoying every small bit of the tracks.

Image02 2The overall sound signature is balanced with a slight inclination on the mids giving us clear vocals. The bass is not that overpowering and goes well with the highs and lows. OnePlus did a really good job of tuning these units to satisfy a diverse set of consumers. The audio via the microphone is decent as well and during our test, the other party was able to hear us clearly over cellular call, same was the case with video calls and in-game voice chat.
Bullets Wireless 2 also come with Bluetooth 5.0 and AptX HD which further improve the overall experience a bit.

For iPhones users there is support for SBC, so you get comparable audio experience on both the platforms. The area where AptX shows its strength is the low latency and being a Qualcomm product, it will only work on smartphones running Qualcomm chips. In our case, we tested the Bullets Wireless 2 with the OnePlus 7 Pro and they worked quite well. The pairing is very easy and the magnetic play pause controls work very well.

How is the battery?

Image03 1Coming to the battery life, during our tests with the volume set to 50%, the Bullets Wireless 2 lasted us close to 13 hours which is just shy to the 14 hours claim made by OnePlus. As mentioned earlier, these do come with support for Warp charge, which charges these under 3 hours completely. If for some reason, you are in a hurry, 10 min charge via the Type C Warp cable would give you 8-9 hours of mixed usage.

OnePlus Warp Charge 30 Car Charger

oneplus car 5Jumping onto the OnePlus Warp Charge 30 Car charger we see the same as that you would find on the regular car charger. The construction is done in part with Aluminium and Plastic to give the product a more high-end feel with the dual-tone color scheme taking it even further. There is an LED ring surrounding the USB port which lights up when the charger is in use. In the box, you get the Type C cable which is rated for Warp Charge.

The charger draws its power via the 12V socket and outputs at 5V=6A for warp charger and 5V=2A for standard charging. One thing to note here is only the OnePlus 7 Pro supports the Warp Charge while other OnePlus smartphone models will essentially charge at the standard charging rates once plugged into this. With the Warp charge kicked in, the charger does get a little warm to the touch and we wouldn’t recommend using it for more than 20-30 mins on a stretch.

Final Thoughts

If you’re in the market looking for a wireless solution that provides you with a functional design, sturdy build, and exceptional battery life while not compromising with the audio performance then, the OnePlus Bullets Wireless 2 are the perfect choice for you. The OnePlus Bullets Wireless 2’s provide you an excellent experience while not breaking your bank. Surely, they have bumped up in price when compared to the last generation but that extra money is justified with the new features.

Priced at INR 1,990 the OnePlus Warp Charge 30 is a must-have accessory for OnePlus buyers. They are priced similarly to the competition while giving you Warp Charge which in itself makes this a bang for buck product.
