After launching a slew of smartphones including Nokia 4.2 and Nokia 3.2, HMD Global has now unveiled a new entry-level smartphone, dubbed as Nokia 2.2 in India.
Notably, the new Nokia 2.2 brings a water-drop notch, premium build and Android One as its main highlights. Interestingly, the phone also comes with a removable back panel that can be customized with Xpress-on covers.

As for the specs, the Nokia 2.2 sports a 5.71-inch display with an HD+ resolution of pixels. The panel further flaunts a maximum brightness of 400nits and a 19:9 aspect ratio, thanks to the water-drop notch.
Under the hood, the phone gets powered by a quad-core MediaTek A22 CPU chipset, coupled with 2/3GB of RAM and 16/32GB of internal storage. The room can be expanded via microSD card (up to 400GB).
For photography, the Nokia 2.2 is equipped with a single 13-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture and 1.12-micron pixel size at the rear. Whereas, the front bears a 5-megapixel selfie shooter for selfies. Both the front and rear shooters make use of HDR and AI-powered low light fusion technology to enhance image quality.On the software front, the phone runs Android 9 Pie under Android One Program. Consequently, it is Android Q ready and is guaranteed to receive two years of OS upgrades and three years of monthly security updates. That said, a 3,000mAh battery backs all of this.
Similar to the Nokia 4.2 and 3.2, the phone comes with a dedicated button to trigger Google Assitant. There’s also an LED notification light, embedded into the power button. However, the phone lacks a fingerprint scanner and instead relies on face unlock for unlocking purpose.
Sensors onboard comprise of Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, and Proximity sensor. Lastly, the connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, FM Radio, GPS a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB port.
Nokia 2.2 Price, Availability
The Nokia 2.2 price in India starts at Rs. 6,999 for the base variant with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant, on the other hand, is priced at Rs. 7,999. Note that the current prices are part of a limited time offer, valid till June 30th, 2019.
That said, one can purchase the handset in Tungsten Black and Steel colour options from Flipkart, Nokia Store and major offline retail outlets.
