Google Nexus Sailfish specs leaked: Snapdragon 820 SoC and Android 7.0 Nougat

The air is thick with expectation for the unveiling of two Nexus smartphones in the coming months. The Nexus Sailfish specs and the features are rumored online. The Nexus Marlin is believed to feature a bigger screen as compared to the Nexus Sailfish which has been recently benchmarked.

Nexus Sailfish Specs

The leaked benchmark details for the Nexus Sailfish substantiate some previously rumored specs. The leaks confirm that it will feature the quad-core Snapdragon 820 chip clocked at 2.1GHz. The Nexus range has been bracketed within the premium range, and it was expected that the latest iteration would feature the most advanced components. However, the Snapdragon 820 is not the most recent issue from Qualcomm since the next in the series Snapdragon 821 has been recently released.

The most recent benchmark leaks also reveal that the Smartphone will feature a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 display. The device boasts a 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The primary camera is a 12MP shooter, and the secondary camera is an 8MP shooter. The device will probably feature the Android 7.0 Nougat OS platform out of the box.

However, the benchmark listing shows the device running on the Nougat Manufacturer Release 1. Both the Nexus Sailfish and the Nexus Marlin is expected to be released this fall. The device also features a fingerprint sensor which is present at the back of the phone. The sensor will support gestures for opening the notification shade. The gadget will have a USB Type-C port as well as bottom speakers.

The Nexus Marlin will have a slightly bigger screen of 5.5 inches with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The Marlin will have a battery of 3,450 mAh. Other specs like the processor, RAM, and camera are identical with the Nexus Sailfish.

Both the smartphones will have new features like a new Nexus Launcher which will negate the need for the app drawer. It will also have the ambient display functions, ‘Support’ tab in Settings app, ‘Night Light’ feature.

The Android Nougat OS platform launch is just around the corner, and more and more leaks give us an idea of what the next iterations of the Nexus range and the Android OS will feature. It includes a new color feature for the setting menu.

The current gray and white UI will now become gray, blue, and white UI. The change seems trivial but looks great. The setting menu will also feature the night mode. However, this will not be present in the final Nougat OS version, but it will be present in the Nexus smartphones.
