Nexus users running Android 6.0 Marshmallow report Google Sync issues

The excitement surrounding Android 6.0 Marshmallow has taken a backseat as Nexus users complain of Google Sync issues. Nexus users who have Android 6.0 or above running on their phones are facing synchronization problems with Gmail, Inbox, etc. It might probably be a nasty bug that is causing delays syncing with these apps.

The issue is causing users to miss out on important email notifications, as Gmail or inbox doesn’t sync properly in the background. The problem has been reported on AOSP – Issue Tracker and Google Nexus Help Forum and over 400 people have posted the same complaint which means that the issue is not only faced by one user but many.

On both these platforms, representatives of Google Nexus have replied that the status of the problem is assigned low priority, which shows that Google has already started working on a solution and very soon might roll it out to Nexus users through an OTA update.

A notification has been sent to Google Employees, and they have started their work on solving the issue. Some people state that this issue might be due to Android Marshmallow’s Doze feature, which suspends various tasks running in the background to save battery. When these apps were excluded from the Doze list, the issue was solved for some.

Are you the victim of this problem? Have you found any temporary or permanent fix to it? Please let us know in the comments below.
