All new Triumph Thruxton R 1200cc launched in India at Rs 10.90 lakh

Triumph has made an addition to its Indian line of products with the newest Thruxton R. The motorbike was first unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016 and will be third in the company’s line of existing products adding onto the Bonneville T120 and Street Twin.

The new Thruxton R rides low and looks powerfully mean. The bike comes with a 1,200cc parallel twin engine that is capable of 96bhp and 112Nm of torque. The bike is fashioned with 17-inch aluminum spoked wheels, a classy rounded headlight along with daytime running LED lights.

The 22mm clip-on handlebars come with rear-view mirrors at the edges, while the 14.5-litre fuel tank sports neat wedges to fit your knees while riding, a Monza-style filler cap along with a stainless steel tank strap. The twin-pod display gives information on trip distance and riding mode along with the usual.

Triumph claims that the liquid cooled engine on the 2016 Thruxton R offers 62% more torque and 68% more power compared to its preceding models. Ride-by-wire technology has enabled Triumph to embed the new bike with three riding modes: Road, Sport, and Rain, where each mode does offer you power but the variegated throttle makes all the difference. Riders can switch modes at the flick of a button.

The bike also comes with modernisms like adjustable ABS, torque clutch assist, as well as traction control. The bike has a single disc brake at the rear with a floating Brembo disc with Monobloc calipers at the front.

The front of the Thruxton R comes with adjustable Showa big piston forks on the front and adjustable Ohlins twin suspension-shocks at the rear to suit your riding preferences.

Although a standard version of the Thruxton R is available globally, Triumph decided to bring the higher spec model (Thruxton R) of the café racer to India to make a better offering.
