Mumbai dealership offers limited period discount of Rs. 25000 on Kawasaki ER 6n

Amongst rumors of Kawasaki creating CKD assembly units in India, the Japanese company has started a limited period offer of Rs. 25,000 discount on ER 6n. The price stands at Rs. 5.12 lakh for the time being. The discount, however, does not come from the company directly, but from a Mumbai-based dealer who is supposedly trying to get rid of the remaining inventory.

Since it’s debut in the Indian market in 2014, the bike hasn’t seen much success. This bike is the roadster version of the Ninja 650 Sports Tourer, which proved to be quite successful in the country. The only logical explanation to a failure of the ER 6n would be its build. The biggest difference is in its front fascia. The 650 Ninja has a classic double-eyed sports beak, whereas the ER 6n has a hunchback uncovered front. The bland colors could also have been a factor that didn’t help it make an impression.

The engine is propelled by a 649cc parallel twin-cylinder, Four-stroke, liquid-cooled and fuel-injected unit puts out 71.1bhp of power at 8,500 RPM and 63.7Nm of torque at 6,000 RPM.  Braking duties are taken care of by a dual semi-floating, petal disc brakes at the front and a single 220mm petal disc brakes at the rear while ABS has been given a miss to keep cost low.

As far as competition is concerned, the sports bikes in this price range who have been doing well in the market are Hyosung GT 650R and Kawasaki Z800. It is quite a competent motorcycle and the price reduction certainly increases the value for money quotient.
