Motorola Moto Z ‘Style Mods’ leak shows swappable back covers

Even though Moto Z will be officially unwrapped on the 9th of June, the speculations and rumors have denied taking a break. Now, ‘HelloMoto HK’ has shared few images of the device on Facebook. The images indicate that the flagship, amongst other customization options, will offer swappable back covers to its users.

According to the pictures, the replaceable back panels can be customized in terms of look and feel. It also shows that they will come in different textures including wood, nylon, leather and a few more. ‘MobileXpose’ reports that the leaked images of the back panels also hint at a larger rear sensor in the upcoming device.

Even though the panel options seem interesting, there is no certainty regarding the same. Reason being, earlier leaks have revealed the presence of a metal uni-body design for the Moto Z. However, there is a good chance that with these panels, Motorola might give its users an option to change the look and feel of the phone, just like body covers do.

Also, rumors have indicated that the company will launch the phone in two models i.e. Moto Z and Moto Z Play. Both the ‘codenamed’ models are sporting top-end specs.

Moto Z is expected to feature a 5.5-inch QHD display, 3GB/4GB of RAM, Snapdragon 820 processor, a 16MP rear camera, 32GB inbuilt storage, and a 2600mAh battery. While the Moto Z Play is likely to sport a 5.5-inch full-HD display, Snapdragon 625 SoC, 2GB of RAM, a 13MP rear camera, 16GB/32GB storage variants, and a 3500mAh battery.

In comparison with LG, we hope Motorola manages to offer better integration between their devices and the ‘mods’. For instance, LG G5 had to be switched off before changing the modules. We hope Motorola manages to squeeze in more convenience with their new offerings.
