Motorola Moto M India launch confirmed: Features, specifications and expected price

Moto M

Within weeks after the official release and sale of Moto M in China, Motorola has confirmed the launch of Moto M smartphone in India. The company took to Twitter and shared about the imminent launch of Moto M with an image of the phone decorated in Gold.

We spotted two separate tweets. While the first tweet indicates that “Something different is coming your way. Stay tuned to know more”, the second tweet indicates that a new series of Moto is on the way. If you examine the first tweet, you will view the rear side of the rumored handset with “coming soon” tag.

However, the second tweet clearly showcases the word Moto with the big “M” blurred.

Moto M specifications

On the specifications front, the Moto M will feature a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, MediaTek P15 octa-core processor coupled with Mali T860 graphics. The handset is expected to ship with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage that can be extended up to 128GB. The display panel will offer a pixel density of 401 PPI. Moreover, the processor runs at a clock speed of 2.2GHz.

Moto M will feature 16MP camera

The rear camera will be equipped with a 16MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture, 1um pixel size alongside PDAF and dual LED flash. However, the front-facing snapper will offer an 8MP sensor with 1.12um pixel size. The main highlight of the upcoming Moto M is the addition of waterproof coating and splash resistant features. Motorola has retained the 3.5mm headphone jack instead of aborting it like in iPhone 7.

Moto M will be equipped with 3050mAh battery

Moto M is expected to draw power from the 3050mAh fast charging battery. In addition to USB Type-C support, the handset will also provide support for OTG. You will work with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which is disappointing. This is because we expected Android Nougat. The sounding segment will be powered by a Dolby Atmos audio boost capabilities.

Designed with a metal unibody design, the antenna bands are placed on the top and bottom. With a weight of 163 grams, the Moto M features a fingerprint sensor on the rear of the handset.

Based on the pricing in China, the Moto M is expected to cost Rs. 19990. However, this will change depending upon the market. Recently, Motorola launched Moto Z and Moto Z Play in the premium segment.
