Motorola Moto X Play

NEW DELHI – Motorola India (NASDAQ:MSI) is ready to release its latest Motorola Moto X Play in India on coming 14 September. Motorola India had yesterday teased the unveiling of the latest Moto X Play on Twitter, but now the company has officially sent invites to media for a launch event scheduled for 14 September.

The latest dual-SIM Moto X Play, sports the 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with 1080P Full HD resolution. Moto X Play is powered by the octa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 1.7GHz 615 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM.

The Moto X Play is expected to have few storage variants ranging, 16 GB and 32 GB, which are expandable up to 128 GB via a microSD card.

The key attraction of smartphone is its 21-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and image sensor. The phone has a 5-megapixel front camera with no flash unit. It allows limited video capturing mode for Full HD mode.

Moto X Play has Nano-coating protection layer to protect it from water damage. It will also feature 4G LTE support.

Motorola’s Moto X Play comes with 3,630 mAh Li-Polymer battery, which company touts to deliver 48 hours of juice on normal usages. Out-of-the-box, the smartphone runs on latest Android 5.1.1 operating system.

At the international launch of the Moto X devices, Motorola didn’t announce their official prices, as they are going to launch it simultaneously across three different continents.

But according to The Guardian, the Moto X Play would be priced between 20,000 INR to 25,000 INR, putting it in competition with phones like the ASUS Zenfone 2 and the OnePlus One.

In comparison to the previous Moto X phones, the new Moto X Play is slightly underpowered in terms of hardware. However, it attempts to amaze customers not by providing them top hardware but features like all-day battery and water-repellent coating.
