Just ahead of the launch of the upcoming Motorola Moto G4, the hardware specifications of the new devices were spotted on an import data sheet released by Zauba.
As per the datasheet, few quantities of the Moto G4 smartphone have arrived in India, probably for the upcoming launch on May 17, via Chennai Air Cargo.
While the device with the SKU SLG6803AA, touted to be Moto G4 features a 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, we also spotted another model bearing SKU SLG6920AA, which has probably 3GB RAM and32GB of internal storage. As per the available data, around 1050 units of Moto G4 and 2 units of Moto G4 Plus arrived in India.
We expect Motorola to launch Moto G4 initially followed by the Plus variant a month later. That’s why only a few quantities of Moto G4 Plus were imported into India.
Leaked specifications
The company revealed that the new smartphones will be available exclusively on Amazon India. Commenting on the partnership, Amit Boni, Country Head, Motorola Mobility India said that since Amazon is one of the best marketplaces in India with a great logistics system in place, we have decided to tieup with them again.
If the rumor turns out to be true, the upcoming Moto G4 Plus will be equipped with Snapdragon 650. However, the Moto G4 is expected to ship with Snapdragon 430.

While Moto G4 will have a 13MP main camera sensor, the Moto G4 Plus is expected to bear a 16MP primary camera sensor. Both devices will provide support for Laser focus, AutoFocus, NFC, LED Flash and OIS.
There are unconfirmed reports that the spare parts for the camera and related accessories will be manufactured under Make in India initiative.
Talking about front-facing camera, the new devices will be equipped with a 5MP OmniVision OV5693 sensor with 1.4μm pixel size.
Earlier, there were rumors that the new Moto G4 smartphones will be integrated with Snapdragon 617 chipset, which is the new octa-core chip designed for smartphones with low battery power. It has 8x Cortex A53 cores designed to reduce the processor power.
Even though both Moto G4 and Plus models will be equipped with a Full HD display, only the Plus variant will ship with a fingerprint sensor, as per rumors. Moreover, the Moto G4 Plus will have a physical home button with a separate fingerprint sensor on it. There is also a possibility for a release of Moto G4 with a 5-inch display. Moreover, Motorola has integrated front-facing speaker grills for enhanced audio.
Motorola is expected to launch Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus on May 17 and will be available exclusively on Amazon.
