Microsoft Surface Go goes on sale in India: Price, Specifications

Launched in India around two weeks back, the Microsoft Surface Go is the company’s smallest and most affordable Surface device. After being on pre-orders for long, it has now finally gone on sale in the country.

Counting in the price and features, the company is touting it to offer a desktop level experience in a 2-in-1 convertible form factor.

Microsoft Surface Go Specifications & Features

The Microsoft Surface Go comes with a 10″ PixelSense touchscreen display with a resolution of 1800 x 1200 pixels in a 3:2 aspect ratio. The panel boasts Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection alongside a contrast ratio of 1500:1 and 10-point multi-touch support. The built-in full friction hinge extends to 165 degrees for better work experience.

The laptop also supports Surface Pen (optional accessory) with 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity, low pen parallax, low latency and precision for accurate note-taking and drawing.

Under the hood, the Surface Go is powered by the Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y processor clocked at 1.6GHz. The dated hardware relies on Intel HD Graphics 615 GPU for its graphics performance and Windows Hello and TPM 2.0 for security.

The device comes in two different RAM and storage configurations including a base model with 4GB DDR3 RAM and 64GB internal storage. There’s also a top-end model with 8GB DDR3 RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The in-built microSDXC slot allows for additional storage expansion.

On the software terms, it runs 64-bit Windows 10 Home in S mode. For the optics, the Microsoft Surface Go incorporates an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus. There’s a 5-megapixel HD camera at the front for selfies and video calls.

The Surface Go gets dual 2-watt speakers with support for Dolby Audio Premium. Other notable highlights include dual microphones and a large battery life of up to 9 hours. Connectivity options comprise of a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a Surface Connect port, a Surface Type Cover port and a microSDXC card slot.

Interested users can also purchase supported accessories like Surface Pen, Surface Go & Surface Go Type Cover keyboard that are sold separately.

Microsoft Surface Go Price & Availability

The Microsoft Surface Go is being sold exclusively via Flipkart with a discount of Rs. 1,000 on both the variants. Hence, the 8/128GB option is now available for a price of Rs 49,999. Whereas, the base model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage (initially priced Rs. 38,599) can now be purchased for just Rs. 37,999.
