Microsoft to release next Windows 10 update in March next year

Microsoft is gearing up to unveil two major Windows 10 updates in 2017. According to sources, the first Windows 10 update codenamed Redstone 2 will be released in March 2017.

In the recently released test preview versions of Microsoft Windows 10 operating system, Twitter use WalkingCat had spotted several references to Windows 10 Version 1703. Hence, this implies that the update will be available for download on March 17.

However, these references point to the year and month of Window 10 release. Interestingly, Microsoft had used the same codes for the recently released Anniversary update released in July. In November 2015, Microsoft released the update with the reference 1511.

Windows 10 update possible features

Microsoft has been internally testing the new features of Window 10 in association with Windows Insiders globally. However, the changes made are only minor. According to an Insider who declined to reveal the identity, he was unable to see any major changes.

Among other features and bug fixes, Microsoft is scheduled to incorporate a new blue light reduction feature in Windows 10. You can also expect improvements to Cortana, which will probably bridge the divide between mobile gadgets and PCs.

Nowadays, tech enthusiasts are aggressively making effective use of smartphones and tablets. By taking this into account, Microsoft is planning to incorporate a HomeHub feature to enable simplified management of smart gadgets. In all probability, the SmartHub feature will be available in the update scheduled for March.

Microsoft to unveil Surface AIOs on October 26

Microsoft is planning to hold a special launch event On October 26, where the upcoming Surface AIO’s will be released. We expect Microsoft to reveal the new features that will be most likely included in the forthcoming update to Windows 10.

Microsoft is expected to release Surface AIOs in three different display variants with support for up to 4K resolution. The Redmond-based company will also announce the future roadmap for Surface devices. There are reports that the company will release Surface Pro 5 with Intel Kaby Lake processor before the end of March 2017.
