Microsoft Band 3 release date hints Waterproof Design and $300 Price

Microsoft Band 3

Expected to be released in October 2016 along with Microsoft Surface Pro 5, the new Microsoft Band 3 should be equipped with improved features based on user feedback.

If rumors are to be believed, the new Band 3 will feature waterproofing for the armband, the ability to monitor heart rate accurately on a separate live tile with comprehensive information. The device will also showcase a battery life indicator on the display in addition to an emergency medical tile.

Microsoft Band 3 will feature waterproof  design

There are reports that Microsoft had filed a patent for a fluid-proof battery housing with the United States Patent Application Office in 2014. However, the design of the waterproof mechanism never worked out till the product team worked together a new design structure in association with customers.

Even though Microsoft will roll out new UX updates to the Band 2, the design can’t be modified. Hence, if you are seeking for a waterproof band, you should wait till Microsoft officially announces the Band 3.

There are rumors that Microsoft is expected to integrate Cortana in Band 3. Hence, you will be able to set reminders and perform search operations directly from your wrist. It is also possible to sync operations between Band 3 and your Windows 10 powered PC.

The upcoming Microsoft Band 3 will feature a larger display with advanced glass protection technology in place.

Microsoft Band 3 will come with Cortana onboard and enhanced display

Microsoft is currently accepting user feedback via the UserVoice page, where users can freely post their comments and opinions. They will be able to share ideas on improvements in Microsoft’s Health App and Band.

We expect Microsoft to release Band 3 at the same price as Band 2, which currently retails for a limited time discounted price of $175 via Microsoft’s official online store. Hence, you can expect the price of the new Microsoft Band 3 anywhere between $250 and $300.
