Micromax launches Canvas Hue, an Android phone with extended battery life

Micromax, the second-biggest producer of smartphones in India, announced the launch of Canvas Hue for Rs. 10,999. Micromax Canvas Hue, which the company claims is capable of providing a battery back-up of 30 days consistently, has been launched in the Indian market.

Apart from the smartphone’s most attractive feature- its battery back-up, the phone comes with other excellent technical specifications. It is a 5-inch smartphone with AMOLED HD display that sports a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. This layer makes the handset scratch resistant. It would run on a 1.3GHz quad core processor with an internal storage of 1GB. Some of the other additional features offered by the phone include a high-quality rear camera of 8MP, which provides auto focus provisions. The camera is fitted with Sony sensor. It also has a 2MP front camera.

Micromax’s latest phone would deploy the Android version KitKat 4.4.2 and would support an upgrade to the latest version of the Os that is Android Lollipop 5.0. The phone is a dual-SIM smartphone that features a range of special themes. Additionally, it will have a storage of 8GB, which can be expanded up to 32GB. To complete the package, the smartphone will come with a 3000mAh. It will be available in two colors- white and gold.

At the launch of the phone, the company’s CEO, Vineet Taneja commented that the phone is capable of providing its users life-like viewing experience given that it features an AMOLED HD screen. He said that the phone will present a clear display with vivid colors.

Taneja highlighted that the company seeks to address a major customer need with the launch of the Canvas Hue as the phone provides an extended battery life. He said that Micromax will continue to raise the bar for affordable innovation.
