New Delhi: Stepping into the field of ever expanding list of companies offering LTE capable smartphones in India, Micromax has come up with its latest offering –

Micromax Canvas Knight 2. The company will offer 4G LTE connectivity for the first time to the Indian consumer through its new smartphone.

Also, with this move Micromax makes an entry In the Mid-Range 4G Smartphone Segment.

Micromax Canvas Knight 2 – First 4G Range Smartphone

Officials claim, the selling point of the smartphone is its dual Nano-SIM card slots supporting 4G connectivity.

The operating system of the phone is Android Lollipop-based and comes equipped with powerful 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor paired with 2GB RAM.

Internal storage is 16GB expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.

Outer appearance of the smartphone indicates it sports a 5-inch HD AMOLED display with 1280 X 720 pixel resolution and uses Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection.

The smartphone bears a price tag of Rs 16,299, slightly higher than our expectations but we expect price cut once the handset officially hits shelves of retail website stores like Flipkart and Amazon.

Commenting on the launch, Vineet Taneja, CEO, Micromax Informatics said, “India is at the cusp of digital revolution and we expect 4G technology to push internet usage to an unprecedented level. Consumer demand is constantly shifting towards devices offering multi-tasking capabilities, 24×7 data connectivity with increased video consumption and real-time mobility solutions.”

The Micromax Canvas Knight 2 will compete directly with the likes of Xiaomi Mi 4, Mi 4i, Asus Zenfone 2, Lenovo Vibe X2, and OnePlus One in the country.

To sweeten the deal for buyers, Airtel has introduced Airtel 4G double data offer which doubles the 4G data amount for any consumer activating the 4G SIM. The device will be available from June 10, 2015 across India.
