New Delhi, Nov 4: Micromax Informatics Ltd., has launched its latest flagship smartphone with 4G LTE support and 3GB of RAM, Micromax Canvas 5 in the market. The smartphone promises to deliver seamless multi-tasking at incredible data speeds.
Commenting on the launch event, CEO at Micromax – Mr. Vineet Taneja said, “With the launch of Micromax Canvas 5 around Diwali, we are introducing our newest Canvas flagship that will be game changer in the smartphone space targeting those who don’t want to compromise and keen to experience the new levels of multi-tasking and superb performance.”
Equipped with a 5.2-inch Full-HD IPS display with screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at 423 PPI, the Micromax Canvas 5 is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek (MT6753) Octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz and paired with 3GB of DDR3 RAM.
The handset offers 16GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 64GB. Out-of-the-box, the Canvas 5 runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 operating system.
On the camera front, the device sports a 13MP AF rear camera (flash enabled) and a 5MP front-facing camera with flash support. It also comes with ‘Picture-in-Picture’ feature, which allows users to capture shots with both rear and front camera at the same time.
Connectivity-wise, the Micromax Canvas 5 comes with 4G LTE support, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Micro-USB 2.0 and a 3.5mm headset jack. The smartphone is fueled by a 2,900mAh Marathon battery, which company touts to deliver 275 hours of standby time and 10 hours talktime.
Micromax has also tied up with Bajaj Finance to run a 12 month EMI scheme, wherein buyers will have to pay four advance EMIs at the time of purchase.
Priced at Rs. 11,999, the Micromax Canvas 5 is available to buy in two color options i.e. Space Grey and Tan Brown.
