This $70 MGCOOl Explorer Pro 4K Sports Camera up-stands with $400 GoPro Hero5

MGCOOL, a dedicated brand for sports and 360-degree cameras, recently released an action camera; Explorer Pro. Explorer Pro is the successor of MGCOOL Explorer 1S and Explorer ES both of which are budget friendly action cameras. Explorer Pro comes with enhanced specifications and two colors to choose from at a price tag of $69.99.

The main attraction of the MGCOOL Explorer Pro is the 6G Sharkeye wide-angle HD lens which captures distortion-less images and videos. The Sharkeye technology is better than its competitors when it comes to light transmission and color revivification.

MGCOOL Explorer Pro includes a Sony IMX179 sensor which can take pictures up to a maximum of 16MB. The sensor also provides support for Back Side Illumination (BSI), which helps in capturing beautiful images even in low light conditions. The power consumption is also reduced to a large extent, so you don’t have to worry about battery run-out anymore.

MGCOOL Explorer Pro also provides a 2 inches display to get a better view of what the camera is recording. To support H.264 video capturing, the Explorer Pro is equipped with Allwinner V3 processor. Explorer Pro is capable of capturing 4K videos at 30 frames per second and 2.7K at 30 frames per second. Also, can capture smooth 60fps videos with Full HD resolution.

MGCOOL Explorer Pro can capture 100 minutes of continuous 4K video using its rechargeable 1050 mAh battery. You can also connect the camera to the smartphone using the exclusive app for Android and iOS. IF you are planning to buy one, then Gearbest and the official MGCOOL website are the only places to order one for yourself.

  1. I have been following this brand for a few weeks now and there is no doubt that it is a candidate for a brand with a better value for money in this of the action cameras

  2. Well, the quality can’t really compete to the gopro, but the price is definitely something that attracts attention and customers. I wish there were some sample photos available on the article, but other than that it looks like mgcool is making very nice cameras for an affordable price.
