It’s been not even a week that India’s largest automaker, the Maruti Suzuki India unveiled its new special edition of Alto K10, called the Musik Edition. And now, the automobile giants are up with another surprise! As a celebration of their first anniversary of introducing the Alto 800 in India, the Maruti Suzuki India announced its anniversary edition of the compact car on Monday. The prices will start from Rs. 3.12 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi), which is merely Rs. 4, 382 higher than a standard Alto 800 LXI model (non-airbag variant).
In his statement, the Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) Vice President (Marketing), Manohar Bhat said: “Alto has been India’s favourite car since its launch. The anniversary edition is our way to celebrate success with our customers in this festive season.”
Some of the new features in this brand new anniversary edition are novel body graphics, body side mouldings, better seat upholstery, blackened B-Pillar, body colored side mirror, door trims, a convenient rear parcel tray, as well as an enhanced audio system. And the model is going to come with an all new color of ‘Purple Haze’.
However, the special edition would retain the mechanical features of the original Alto 800, including its 796cc, 3-cylinder engine producing a torque rate of 69Nm at 3, 500 rpm.
The Maruti Suzuki India launched the Alto 800 in India last year in October at a starting price of Rs. 2.44 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). And over two lakh units of this performance-driven family car have been sold over the past one year, primarily cashing in from the first-time car buyers who look to upgrade from a two-wheeler to a four-wheeler.
