LG India has launched the Stylus 2 smartphone with a 5.7-inch display and VoLTE support at Rs. 19500 in Brown and Titan color variants. Available in all retail stores from May 18, LG Stylus 2 was originally launched just ahead of MWC 2016 and was launched in South Korea at KRW 396000, which is approximately Rs. 22000.
Commenting on the launch, Amit Gujral, Marketing Head, LG India disclosed that the upcoming LG Stylus 2 is a continuation to the successful release of LG K7 and K10 in April as part of the Make in India initiative.
Gujral said that the new smartphone is mainly oriented for budget users who prefer a big display with premium note-taking functionality. To celebrate the grand Make in India program, the company is giving away free LG Signature interactive smart cover for free along with Stylus 2.
Touted to be equipped with nano-coated tip, the stylus included with the device provides an enhanced accuracy compared to the rubber-tipped pen as seen on the LG G4 Stylus previously. The Stylus 2 also ships with new features like Pen Pop, which automatically displays a popup menu when the stylus is removed. This will offer new shortcuts like Pop Memo, Pop Scanner, and Pen Keeper, which monitors the stylus bay and notifies users when it is empty.
On the specifications front, the LG Stylus 2 offers a 5.7-inch In-Cell HD display, a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage. While the main camera features a 13-megapixel main camera with CMOS sensor, the device bears a powerful 8-megapixel front-facing shooter.
The LG Stylus 2, meanwhile, is loaded with the brand new Android 6.0 Marshmallow on top of LG UI 5.0. With support for 3G LTE, VoLTE, 2G and 3G connectivity, the dual micro-SIM device is powered by a 3000mAh removable battery and weighs only 145 grams.
Earlier, LG released K7 and K10 LTE smartphones at Rs. 9,500 and Rs. 12,500 respectively under Make in India initiative. The Stylus 2 is similar to that of K10 except the fact that the new smartphone bears a 5.7-inch display, which will be useful for those users who would like to navigate the web or read e-books.
