LG G7 specs, release date, features rumors: What we know so far

LG is on the verge of launching their next flagship offering LG V30 on August 31. And now rumors have popped up online regarding the company’s next high-end smartphone LG G7. The previous generation G series phone like G6 and G5 were launched at an event held on CES in 2017 and 2016 respectively. And it is highly probable that LG will continue the same launch strategy of the past and may be unveiled G7 in Feb 2018.

By analyzing the past trend of company’s G series offering, LG will choose a top of the line hardware for G7. LG might choose the same design aesthetic of G6 smartphone with much more refined edges and sleek overall construction. The G7 might feature the brushed metal unibody design with the volume rockers will be on the left side and SIM tray on the right. On the display front, LG will probably opt for 2K Super AMOLED FullVision display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5, Dolby Vision, and HDR10 compliant same as LG G6, however, the display size is unknown at the moment.

LG G7

The current gen LG G6 is packed the Snapdragon 821 coupled with Adreno 530 and 4GB RAM. Unlike G6, LG G7 may opt for the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 chipset Adreno 540 GPU that is anticipated to debut with the Pixel 2 series later this year. It might come with 6GB LDDR4 RAM, and 64GB/128GB UFS 2.1 ROM. LG G7 will run on latest Android 8.0 aka Android O operating system with LG UX 6.0 UI on the top. It is very likely that LG G7 will pack dual 16MP rear camera set up with OIS and F/1.6 aperture.

Moreover, the LG G7 may be fueled by a bigger battery this time and latest generation 64Bit ESS Sabre Audio DAC for an immersive audio experience. Some connectivity options may get an upgrade in G7 like Bluetooth 5.0. Though it is too soon to comment on the final features of the LG G7, it is very likely that the company will surely save the best for the upcoming G7 and we will be covering as more details surface the internet in the days to come.
