Lenovo Teased its Next Budget Smartphone, K8 Plus in a Video

Today, Lenovo has announced their partnership with Flipkart to sell their smartphones like Lenovo K5 Plus, K5 Note, K6 Power, and upcoming Lenovo K8 Plus. The K8 plus will be available to the Indian consumers from September 6th. Lenovo has unveiled a teaser video on their official twitter account today which indicates that the K8 Plus will come with a dedicated music key and a SIM card slot.

Moreover, the teaser video comes with a punchy tag line “Krave for More” which is quite enough to create a buzz in the tech junkies audience. The Lenovo K8 Plus is the younger sibling of recently launched Lenovo K8 Note. The phone was recently spotted on popular benchmark website, GeekBench which indicates that the phone is featured with the MediaTek Helio P20 chipset paired with 3GB RAM.

The listing also suggests that the smartphone will runs on the Android 7.1 Nougat operating system out of the box. Notably, the Lenovo has already killed their custom interface VIBE UI last month due to the lack of regular updates and confusing interface.

Nonetheless, Commenting on the Alliance with Flipkart, Ayyappan Rajagopal, Senior Director – Smartphones at Flipkart, said:”Flipkart has been instrumental in building the Lenovo brand in India – having sold more than 7mn Lenovo branded mobile phones in the last 2.5 years. The new exclusive K8 Plus will make the latest technology available to customers at competitive pricing”.

To recall, The company’s last offering was the Lenovo K8 Note is quite popular in the mid range market segment. The phone sports a 5.5 inches Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection on it. It is throttle by 64 bit MediaTek Helio X23 chipset which is clocked at 2.3GHz. The smartphones come with two RAM and ROM variants i:e 3GB/4GB and 32GB/64GB respectively. On the camera front, there is a Dual camera which consists of 13MP OmniVision lens and 5MP optics for capturing depth. Whereas, up front, there is a 13MP selfie camera which comes with a selfie flash.
