Lenovo sells 30,000 units of A7000, launches A6000 Plus in India

Lenovo has introduced A6000 Plus, the latest version of A6000 in India and has claimed to sell around 30,000 units of A7000. The BGR.in has reported that this new smartphone comes with a 16GB storage space and a capacity of 2GB RAM. This means that A6000 Plus has double the storage space and memory than its earlier counterpart. However, other features remain unchanged.

A6000 Plus Features

A6000 Plus has a 1.2GHz 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 5-inch HD screen along with IPS, 2300 mAH battery and an Adreno 306 GPU. Other features include an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP fixed focus-front camera that runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS. You can use two micro-SIM cards with the latest Lenovo A6000 Plus.

With this new launch, Lenovo is expected to connect with the mid-budget and the low budget buyers, which until now has been out its reach. The announcement about the launch was made by Lenovo in the ‘Flipkart’s Bangalore office during ‘flash sale’. The new Lenovo A6000 Plus is expected to cost around INR 6999 although the company is yet to reveal the ‘real’s price of the product.

Smartphone Market of India

The smartphone market of India has witnessed an array of new launches in the space of 4G. Some of the latest models to enter the fray include Redmi 4G Note, iberry Auxus Beast 4G, Moto E 2nd gen 4G model, and Micromax Yu Yureka.

Even as the companies are introducing new products in the 4G genre, market researchers state that the overall market for the smartphone in India has been shrinking. Samsung is still the leader, but there has been an overall shrunk in the demand for smartphone.

High channel inventory at the start of the quarter is being considered the real reason due to the fall in the demand for smartphone. With no big festival around the corner, the market position is not expected to change much in the coming months.
