Recent leak confirms curved OLED display on Apple iPhone 8

Apple iPhone 8, expected to be released in September 2017 will be equipped with a premium OLED curved display instead of a flat panel. There are reports that Apple will integrate a new touch-sensitive technology.

According to reports released by credible multiple sources, Apple is gearing up to launch a 5.5-inch iPhone 2017 with an OLED display. Internally, the folks at Apple have tagged the forthcoming model as premium. However, the Cupertino-based tech giant will also launch iPhone 8 with conventional IPS LED displays.

According to latest reports, the upcoming OLED variant of the iPhone 8 will be curved since Apple has placed orders for all plastic OLED and not glass from Samsung Display. The point to note is that the plastic panels will be able to bend.

iPhone 8 to have curved OLD display similar to Samsung Galaxy S7

Based on the reports available in the rumor mills, the main intention of Apple is to make use of a curved display similar to that of Samsung Galaxy S7. The display incorporated in the Galaxy S7 has received rave reviews from all tech enthusiasts.

Previously, there were reports that the Apple will not launch OLED display due to supply constraints. We also saw several news reports that Sharp will supply OLED displays to Apple. According to industry analysts, the production costs involved in the manufacturing of OLED display are more than conventional displays.

The iPhone 8 is expected to ship with an unique sensing technology, which provides the smartphone to respond when users touch any side of the gadget.

There are rumors that Samsung will supply OLED displays in 2017. The latest reports suggest that Apple has ditched LG and Sharp for now but actively considering them for the 2018 iPhone variant. Since Apple is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2017, you can expect limited quantities of iPhone 2017 premium model.

iPhone 8 to feature wireless charging, no physical Home button

According to a report published in a leading newspaper, Samsung has entered into a partnership with Apple to manufacture 70 to 100 million units. This is somewhat equivalent to the previous estimates. However, you need not have to expect a foldable iPhone 2017. The unique touch sensing technology helps the phone to respond when users touch any side of the device.

Some of the other rumored features of iPhone are wireless charging, glass body, an absence of physical Home button, edge-to-edge bezel-less display integrated with Touch ID fingerprint sensor and camera.
