Latest Galaxy Note 9 leak suggests 4,000mAh battery, larger display

Note 9 1

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 leaks are becoming more frequent even though it could be still months before the device is ready for a formal launch. And the latest leak courtesy of Chinese leaker Ice Universe claimed in a tweet post the upcoming Note version might have a bigger battery of 3,850mAh or 4,000mAh.

Ice Universe has been quite consistent with his Samsung coverage so far though there is no denying the usual uncertainties that applies to all such leaks and rumors. For easy reference, the current Note 8 comes with a 3,300mAh battery while the more recent S9 and S9+ does with a 3,000mAh and 3,500mAh power pack respectively.

However, what makes the mention of a battery upgrade for the Note 9 somewhat controversial is the fact that it quite contradicts another rumor that claims the phone might feature an in-screen fingerprint sensor as well. Now, inclusion of a fingerprint sensor embedded in the front display is expected to make it thicker than usual. That in turn will mean less space for the fitment of a higher capacity battery.

Meanwhile, another rumor would like us to believe the upcoming Note 9 will also have a bigger display as well. That would be marginal at best, 6.4-inch compared to the current 6.3-inch display. A previous design render of the Note 9 had also revealed the top and bottom bezels further reduced to almost being non-existent. Maybe that could have freed up that wee bit more space for a slightly bigger display to be fitted.

Also, with Note 9 hitting headlines more frequently, experts believe that could be the sign of the device launched earlier than usual. The less than expected demand for the otherwise brilliant S9 and S9+ phones could also be another reason Samsung contemplating an early launch of the Note 9. The S9 duo might be exemplary in performance but the similarity with its predecessor is believed to have dented its prospects so far.

As for the rest of the details that we know of the Note 9 include its Snapdragon 845/Exynos 9810 chipset (depending on launch location) coupled to a 6 GB RAM and 64 GB of storage. The latter again would apply to the most basic version with the top of the line Note 9 likely featuring a 256 GB storage.

Expect more such leaks and rumors to crop up in the coming days and weeks. So stay tuned.
