KFC ‘Watt a Box’ lets you charge your smartphone while you eat

Addressing the common issue of battery drainage, KFC India has launched the tech variant of its new 5-in-1 Meal Box called ’Watt a Box’. The limited edition meal box by the fast-food chain lets customers charge their smartphone while you take a bite of your favorite meal.

The KFC ’Watt a Box’ meal box has an inbuilt power bank and charging cables for you to fuel your smartphone. The 6100mAh Li-ion battery is just enough to fully charge your smartphone, which is detachable. As mentioned earlier, it comes with a USB cable for Android phones and lighting cables for iPhone.

KFC has not put the new meal box on sale right now. Interested customers can participate in the week-long contest running on KFC India’s Facebook page. A few lucky winners will stand a chance to win the ‘Watt a Box’ at select KFC stores in Delhi and Mumbai.

Commenting on the same, Lluis Ruiz Ribot, CMO of KFC India said, “With the launch of Watt a Box, we have gone a step ahead and also introduced an element of utility into the box. Each one of us spends a considerable time on our smartphones daily, and the phone battery going dead is almost like a nightmare! No longer is that the case, with the Watt a Box around.”

Recently, McDonald’s partnered with Rovio and Sony to create 360-degree videos for the promotion of Angry Birds movie.
