Banking on this festive season, the Indian phone-maker Karbonn on Tuesday has launched not one, not two, not three, but four 2G and 3G enabled, dual-SIM Android smartphones, viz. Karbonn A16, Karbonn A35, Karbonn A90, and Karbonn A99.
The price of all these four smartphones ranges between Rs. 5,500-Rs 7,500. Aiming for a more aggressive market penetration, the company said in a statement: “With money-savings being the in-word now, this festive range from Karbonn is aimed to bring in a completely novel vista of gifting for your loved ones.”
The features and specifications of Karbonn’s four latest A-series smartphones are pretty much similar. Except for A35, that features a larger 5-inch qHD IPS display, the rest of the three phones sport a 4-inch display (except for the IPS display of A90, the rest of the two phones feature a WVGA display with 480×480 pixels screen resolution)
Coming to the processor, Karbonn A16 and A99 are power-packed with 1.3GHz dual-core processor with 512MB of RAM, whereas the A35 and A90 are powered by 1GHz dual-core processor along with the same amount of RAM. The Karbonn A16 and A99 run on the same OS, the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean; while the other two are supported by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. The A35, however, has a bigger-powered battery of 1800mAh, as compared to the 1400mAh battery of A90 and A99, as well as the 1350mAh battery of A16.
While Karbonn A35, A16, and A99 carry 4GB of internal storage capacity, the latter two have microSD card options expandable up to 32GB. As far as the rear camera is concerned, all the four smartphones flaunt a 5-megapixel camera (A35 comes with the auto focus feature). But A35 has a better version of the front facing camera (2-megapixel) than the rest of the three phones (VGA frontal camera).
It’s pretty obvious from the specifications that A35 turns up with the highest price tag of Rs. 7, 490, followed by Karbonn A99 at Rs. 6,590, A16 at Rs. 6,490, and A90 at Rs. 5,490.
