The Finland-based mobile company, Jolla has opened up additional pre-orders for its upcoming Jolla Tablet in selected countries including India. The company said that “limited” consignment of additional slates is now available to pre-order via its official website – priced at €267 (19,822 INR approx.) for the 32GB variant, or €299 (22,198 INR approx.) for the 64GB variant (Prices vary by country, depending on VAT).
The Jolla Tablet is crowd funded project funded on Indiegogo, so if you are among those who supported the project with finances, you wouldn’t need to pre-order it, although you’ll have to wait for few more months.
In March, Jolla appeared Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona, where it showcased a prototype of Jolla Tablet running a build of Sailfish 2.0 to conference attendees.
In terms of specifications, the Jolla Tablet runs on its independent Operating System, called Sailfish 2.0. Besides running its built-in apps, Sailfish OS 2.0 can run Android apps as well. Sailfish OS 2.0 works with your hand movements via simple gestures. And while Jolla touts Sailfish’s core open source credentials, its Sailfish UI remains closed source for now.
At 330 ppi, the display of Jolla Tablet features a fully laminated 7.85-inch IPS Capacitive Touchscreen with 5 points multi-touch and a screen resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels.
Powered by a 64-bit Quad Core Intel Atom Baytrail processor clocked at 1.8GHz coupled with 2GB DDR3L-RS RAM and Intel HD Graphics GPU, the Jolla Tablet is available in two different storage options i.e. 32GB and 64GB (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card).
The Jolla Tablet is equipped with a 5MP rear camera with full HD 1080p video recording capabilities and a 2MP front-facing camera for video calling. The slate is fueled by a 4,450 mAh battery.
In terms of connectivity, the Jolla Tablet comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n dual-band, Bluetooth 3.0, A-GPS/GLONASS, Micro-USB OTG Support and a 3.5mm audio jack. The device also features an Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Hall Sensor, Light Sensor and a Compass.

Availability of Jolla Tablets
Limited stock of Jolla Tablet is available for pre-orders in all EU countries, Norway, Switzerland, United States, Australia, Hong Kong, India, Canada and Russia. Consignments for earlier Indiegogo contributors will start in early September, and deliveries to pre-order customers from this phase are likely to start at the end of October.
